ALNAP (Active Learning Network for Accountability and Performance) is a sector-wide network of international humanitarian organizations and experts. Established in 1997 following the multi-agency evaluation of the humanitarian response to the Rwandan Genocide , ALNAP provides the humanitarian sector with a view of accountability and learning.

The ALNAP Secretariat is hosted by the Overseas Development Institute in London.

Past Activities

The Tsunami Evaluation Coalition (TEC) [1] was a unique learning and accountability initiative established in February 2005 to carry out joint assessments of the Asian earthquake and tsunamis of 26 December 2004. The TEC was hosted by ALNAP and the ALNAP secretariat was responsible for managing the day to day operations of the project.

In July 2011, ALNAP took part in a move to strengthen its collaboration with three other quality and accountability initiatives. The other organizations involved were the Sphere Project, Humanitarian Accountability Partnership (HAP) International, and People In Aid .
